My career in legal began in Canada, where I worked as a legal secretary while I completed my Business Diploma. While I had initially intended to obtain my law degree in Canada, I decided to take a year off to go backpacking in 2007. My adventures lead me across the world to New Zealand where I fell in love with the place so much that I ended up staying! After putting down roots, I finished studying and obtained my law degree from the University of Waikato in 2012. After graduating I worked for various different law firms specializing in property matters and accompanying work such as trusts, commercial, succession planning and relationship property. I realised that for many people, dealing with legal matters and lawyers - whether planned or unexpected - was viewed as scary or expensive. I could also see how difficult it was for clients to find the time to discuss their legal matters during working hours. I decided to start JMorgan Law so I could offer a more flexible, timely, and cost-effective approach to help people with their problems and provide practical, easy to understand legal solutions. I understand how hectic the daily grind can be between work and kids - that’s why at JMorgan Law I offer meetings on weekends or evenings by appointment.
