Jo Mitchell Yoga is a company based out of Newcottoun, Clentrie Farm, Auchtertool, Kirkcaldy, United Kingdom. Hi I am a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher near Kirkcaldy in Fife, Scotland. I teach Iyengar Yoga classes for adults, young people and children in Fife. I teach in various locations in Kirkcaldy and Auchtertool and also offer private lessons for 2 to 5 people in my home studio in Auchtertool, KY2 5XG. I qualified as a Level 1 Iyengar Yoga teacher in December 2020, after 4 years of Teacher Training. I am qualified to teach all asanas (poses) on the extensive Level 1 Iyengar Yoga syllabus including standing poses, inversions, backbends, forward extensions, twists and pranayama. I am also trained and insured for hands on adjustments when required. All my classes are suitable for beginners. I am experienced in teaching with props to help students of all abilities, gain the maximum benefit from the pose, regardless of how stiff or inflexible they may be. Real Yoga isn’t about flexibility, despite this being a common misconception about attending a yoga class. Iyengar Yoga is characterised by precision and alignment in the execution of the postures (asanas), the sequencing of the asanas towards a desired result and the timing in the length of time the asanas are held for maximum benefit. Props are used if required. I had a fully equipped home studio outside Auchtertool, where I offer private classes for 2 to 5 people. My closest dedicated Iyengar Yoga studio is Yoga on Tay in Newport on Tay where I teach a Wednesday class for beginners at 6pm.
