I’m a stand-up comedian and author of four best-selling books. As a keynote speaker, I’ve delivered guest lectures for the Melton School of Jewish Education, Momentum Unlimited, American Jewish University, and other organizations whose mission is to present students with a more nuanced and complete picture of Israel and Jewish life, including the biggest challenges facing Israel and the Jewish people today. As an educator, my number one rule is to never be boring. In keeping with this belief, my workshops are hands-on and designed to create honest, meaningful conversation about Israel – including interactive games, text study, cooking workshops, and other programs designed to reach people each person they’re at. My books: in Israel 201, co-written with Benji Lovitt, I introduce readers to the magic, mystery and chaos of daily life in Israel, behind the headlines (Gefen). The 188th Crybaby Brigade is my comedic memoir about my experience as an IDF tank soldier and a favorite among IDF lone soldiers (Simon and Schuster); in the cookbook Balaboosta, Israeli celebrity chef Einat Admony and I present over a hundred of her favorite recipes and stories about her unique journey from Bnei Brak, Israel to owner of five restaurants in New York City (Artisan). In Essential Tennis, coach Ian Westermann and I tennis players with a practical guide to strategy, technique, and improvement. In my weekly newsletter, Hebrew Is Magic, I introduce readers to the hidden life lessons embedded in Hebrew words. To date I’ve performed comedy and/or delivered the keynote for more than 1,500 Jewish communities in ten countries.
