Joel Simmy

Joel Simmy, born in Huddersfield, is a British rapper, songwriter, writer who has had national radio success such as Kiss Fresh FM and BBC Radio 1Xtra. Working in the community, Simmy has created a workshop, helping kids express themselves through poetry and raps. Providing a fresh outlook, Simmy touches on social pressures, adolescence and growth within his words in raps, plays and within the workshop. His latest release, ‘Here’s Your Notice’ a 2-track ep, is centred around self-discovery, lack of mentorship, an outlook on the youth being mislead for money and a new beginning for Simmy. Simmy has also been apart of the writing team of hometown production company, Proper Job, who will be showcasing an adaptation of ‘Beuwolf’.
