For the past two years, I worked as a designer while researching and writing a book about forgiveness, authenticity, recovery, and self-worth. In early 2024, I found the courage to read my personal journal entries from the last seven years and realized they tell my wild story – from hopeless to stable to confident. My book, “Is It F-ing Me?” weaves together my unhinged, embarrassing, private thoughts and rantings with professional mental health research on moving past childhood trauma, dumping relationship drama, setting boundaries, overcoming religious trauma, “getting out”, changing careers, and learning how to “worry about you-self.” As a researcher, I am resolved to share my findings that, yeah, I am the problem sometimes – but not all the time – and knowing the difference makes life worth living.
