The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international Catholic organization (HQ based in Rome) with a mission to accompany, serve and advocate on behalf of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons, that they may heal, learn, and determine their own future. The Jesuit Refugee Service in Lebanon has been implementing multifaceted emergency response programs since year 2012, tackling the most urgent needs of Syrian refugees and vulnerable members of the Lebanese host community. Currently, JRS Lebanon runs emergency-response and/or education-in-emergency programs: providing early childhood education and learning support, specialized psychosocial support, recreational activities, home visits, emergency & basic assistance, adults’ education and protection. These programs aim to provide accompaniment, promote resilience, and respond to the refugee and host community basic needs. JRS Lebanon works in the following locations: Bourj Hammoud, Jbeil, Bar Elias, and Baalbeck.
