Jukedeck
Jukedeck was the world's first AI music composition startup, building software that used machine learning to compose original music on demand. Its core products were a website and API that let non-musicians create original, rights-cleared music according to high-level inputs such as style and duration: the technology was used to create more than a million pieces of music, which were used as backing music in online videos, ads, TV and radio shows, podcasts and games. Jukedeck comprised a team of 20 people, mostly machine learning researchers and engineers, and its investors included Cambridge University. It won a number of awards, including a Cannes Innovation Lion and the Startup Battlefield at TechCrunch Disrupt. In 2019, it was acquired by ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok.
