Hello I'm Celestine, a freelance writer, copywriter and filmmaker with over 5 years of experience in communicating disability. I'm the founder of Just Copy, a media company communicating disability through writing, copywriting and film. The goal of Just Copy is two-fold: 1. to communicate disability culture and issues 2. to help clients communicate with and about disabled people. I've written articles on disability for mainstream publications like VICE, Metro and Little White Lies, and for disability magazines like PosAbility and Dubble. I've written copy & content for a number of clients, including Tilting the Lens, ParaPride, Celebrating Disability, ParaDance, Motivation and two BBC & BFI films about disability. I'm also an award-winning film producer. I produced the BBC/ BFI short films 'ill, actually'(dir: Zoe Hunter Gordon, 2019) and 'BETTER'(dir: Zoe Hunter Gordon, 2023), which explore young disabled identity. I'm also an associate writer on 'BETTER'. As a member of the BFI Disability Advisory Screen Group and Press Reset campaign, I work with the BFI to increase and improve disabled representation in film and TV. I also have experience moderating panels about disability in film (recently, at Genesis Cinema). In writing and in filmmaking, my goal is the same: to use language and storytelling to increase the representation of disabled people, promote accessibility, and strive for a more inclusive world.
