K9TEACH is an Animal-Assisted Education business that uses Animal-Assisted Interventions to create calm, relaxing and engaging learning environments. The Founder Melissa Brown is a primary school teacher who also holds an Animal-Assisted Intervention and Therapy Dog Certification with her rescue koolie Boofred. Melissa and Boofred are passionate about combining their knowledge of Teaching and Animal-Assisted Education to help students reconnect with learning, enabling them to reach their full potential. K9TEACH believes in a holistic and inclusive approach to cater for the diversity among students, and therefore believes in creating programs that are relevant and responsive to each school/students needs. How does it work? K9TEACH likes to meet with interested schools and create a program to suit that schools particular needs. This can be done in a whole class, small group or individual session and could include some or all of the following- Regular one hour - whole day visits, shared between or in one classroom - Therapy sessions that include relaxing activities - Reading sessions - Any type of learning intervention for a small group or individual students
