Kacoon Foundation

Kacoon Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization that is founded for the purpose of Community and Education Development, previously disadvantaged areas of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. Changing the literacy (reading and writing) capabilities of previously disadvantaged junior scholars/learners, through various facilitated programmes that not only develop the community's literacy skills, it also provides employment opportunity for graduates in various fields. The programmes we offer to the communities are: • WATC – Wizard Academy Tutor Centres – Programme that focuses on increasing the level competency in Mathematics and Physical Science for learners in Grade: 10, 11, 12. • LIER – Literacy In English through Reading – Programme that focuses on developing a foundation for literacy in English for learners in Grade: 4, 5, 6, 7; Through reading and comprehension sessions and activities. • Fire Catalyst Programme – Youth community service facilitation. Engaging the youth in their own development and that of the communities exposed to. Kacoon will assist in upskilling the community in developing them to be able to independently deliver services to affected parties and members. • YEP – Youth Entrepreneurship Programme – Inspire entrepreneurship amongst the youth community members and develop programmes to help them develop their own initiatives.
