Kahu Creative Studio

Kahu Creative Studio is a whenua-led design practice and the home of Whenua Systems Design. We help whānau, hapū, iwi, councils, and developers understand the stories, systems, and relationships within a place before design decisions are made. Our work begins with Whenua Analysis — a methodology that explores the whakapapa, waterways, ecology, cultural narratives, and environmental systems that shape a landscape. From this foundation, we support: • Whenua Analysis • Cultural Design Strategy • Regenerative Design • Mahi Toi Integration • Landscape Architecture • Environmental and Water Systems Thinking • Papakāinga and Marae Development We believe understanding the whenua should be the foundation of every project. Through Whenua Systems Design, we bring together mātauranga Māori, environmental science, regenerative thinking, and healing-centred design to create places that work with the land rather than against it. Kia ora a Papatūānuku, ka ora te tangata. If we heal Mother Earth, we heal the people.
