KAHU is building a real-time, crowdsourced radar intelligence network to detect vessel movements, independent of AIS. By collecting and fusing radar data from ships around the world, KAHU aims to create a real-time map of vessel activity. This empowers shipowners, insurers, regulators, and conservationists, among others, with a new layer of maritime domain awareness - improving safety, transparency, and sustainability. Our approach is built on: Scalable, plug-in or containerized software to collect radar echoes Anonymous and secure data sharing Actionable insights from real-world radar patterns A mission to protect both people and ocean ecosystems Participation is free for shipowners, and all contributors gain access to the shared radar map - making every vessel safer through collaboration.
