Kamikaze Comedy

Kamikaze Comedy was launched on 24th June 2009 by Professional Musician/Promoter Jason Newman and Stand-Up Comedian/Host Chris Taylor. The night was launched with a view to showcasing the newest stand-up talent from around the country in their hometown of Halifax. The idea came from Chris, as he struggled to find venues and promoters who were willing to give new comedians the chance to gain experience in stand-up comedy, this was also not helped by local venues not having new acts/new material nights. The show was originally run on the basis of 8 (eight) stand-up comedians performing for approximately ten minuets each, breaking the comedy down into nice bite size chunks. However due to the success of Kamikaze the show is now run on the basis of 4 (four) open spots doing ten minuets and a headliner doing beween 25 and 35 minuets. There are short breaks after the 2nd and 4th comedians.
