Kardinia Capital is a boutique asset manager investing in Australian equities via an absolute return, variable beta, long/short strategy. Kardinia was established in 2011, after the strategy was incepted in 2006. The business is managed by Kristiaan Rehder, supported by Stuart Larke and Mark Burgess. Between them, they have a combined 86 years of experience in stock picking and managing money for clients. The Kardinia Long Short Fund aims to generate consistent positive returns in all market conditions, with an overarching philosophy of capital protection. It gives investors variable exposure to the equity market, but with the flexibility of both minimising losses in equity market drawdowns and providing lower volatility than the market.
