Karmoie is a Norwegian independent eyewear brand born from the desire to combine the world of fashion with a meaningful and life-altering contribution. For every pair of Karmoie eyewear sold, a pair of corrective glasses is given to a person in need. The name Karmoie is drawn from the Sanskrit word karma meaning “action” or “deed” and the French word joie or “joy”. To founders Kirsten and Lars Iversen, Karmoie is the joy of doing good for others. Karmoie’s frames and parts are entirely sourced, hand shaped and hand polished in Italy. Designer Kirsten Iversen finds inspiration in the nostalgic elegance of exquisite vintage styles, combined with pop cultural references and details from industrial design, adding her own twist to keep them contemporary and fresh. Focusing on clean lines, a deep and vibrant colour palette, and a lightweight comfortable fit, Karmoie pieces are understated, modern classics. Integrity is at the heart of Karmoie’s culture. The brand seeks to excel in every aspect of its business, from the quality and unique aesthetic of its frames, to the use of environmental and animal friendly materials. Committed to giving the gift of sight to those in need, Karmoie currently partners with Eyejusters to help lessen the demand for corrective eyewear and trained optometrists in developing countries. Karmoie has united with reliable non-profits around the world to donate hundreds of pairs of corrective eyewear to people in South Sudan, Uganda and Morocco.
