Karolini Kool

Autumn 2022, inspired by the story of Karolin and her family, as well as the community's wish, St Peter’s Lutheran School of Tartu opened the first private school in Tartu for children with special needs. Karolin`s School operates as an all-day school in a specially adapted and modern, spacious and lightful building. Karolin`s School integrates the educational and social services necessary for its students and the best specialists in their field under one roof using an innovative school model - an all-day school for disabled children. There are 20 students in Karolin`s School. All of them need greater support in many, some even in all daily activities. Both the content and the form of this small and modern school have been created based on the needs and characteristics of the students. The aim is to support the development and well-being of the children throughout the day. This gives their parents the opportunity to participate in full-time employment if they wish, or to take a breather and reduce their burden of care.
