Do you know? • The global cost of climate change due to natural disaster and disease has reached $300 billion per annum in 2021 and it will rapidly to $3 trillion by 2050. • There are many entailing but intangible costs and risks on climate change, including loss of lives, famine, poverty and displacement, scarcity of resources and invasive viruses. • Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere is the highest in years and the Earth is warming 1 degree per hundred years, this is more than 10x faster than its billion years of existence. • Global temperature has increased 1.1 degree since industrialization (19th century), scientist estimate 1.5 degree of warming as a key tipping point, beyond which the occurrence of flooding, drought, wildfires and food shortage will increase dramatically. • A 2.0 degree of warming is catastrophic for many species including human, therefore every country is racing toward net zero 2050. • 42,100 (28%) species out of total 150,388 species are being categorized as endangered or extinct in the past 50 years due to climate change and human exploitation. • Avoidance can only decelerate warming, but to achieve net zero and eventually reverse the warming temperature, the World needs to see more high quality carbon projects. • Investment in the global carbon credit projects is only amounting to $36 billion in the past 10 years, mainly because the myth that environmental-friendly movement are loss-making activities.
