KAS is Kirat S. Anand’s namesake label. Kirat grew up in New York, but from a very early age he would visit India, for three months at a stretch. This multi-cultural mix is apparent in the DNA of KAS, which combines bohemian designs with urban confidence. After attending NYU Leonard Stern School of Business, Kirat worked with JPMorgan in Investment Banking. Upon leaving banking he wanted to follow his heart, which thanks to his parents had always been in fashion. In 2006 Kirat and his mother, designer Sabby Anand, founded KAS New York. The collection has become a staple resource for retailers who are looking for a fresh colorful aesthetic, which is created with either dynamic prints or bold hues and infused with hand details. The KAS woman is confident, creative and comfortable with herself. She is free spirited and adventurous, while being sophisticated and romantic. She is a woman who loves to travel, live life and is not defined by who she wears, but loves what she wears. Most of all she loves how the brand incorporates impeccable quality detailing on luxurious fabrications yielding effortless fashion and carefree glamour. In 2008, The International Design Awards nominated KAS and Kirat Anand for Fashion Designer of the year in their Prêt-a-Porter category. In 2009, he created a capsule kids collection, KAS KIDTURE, for Saks and Malia Obama wore a KAS outfit at the Inaugural Concert. In 2013 the KAS New York e-commerce store was launched, on the website, which gives the brand a direct connection with the its girl. The brand’s headquarters, design and distribution are located in New York City, in the fashionable district. The collection has also been featured in WWD, Glamour, Elle, Lucky, InStyle, FashionTV, NBC TV, FOX TV, Bravo Network, USA Network, PeopleStyle Watch, InTouch, US Weekly, Seventeen, Health, Latina, Audrey, New York Newsday and many other media outlets.
