Katherine High School

Katherine High School provides every person with every opportunity to work and learn in a safe and welcoming educational environment where our staff and students are supported to meet the high expectations of the community in which we all live. Our school believes that we can best meet the challenges of the future by investing in the individual strengths of young Australians. Our school is located on Grevillea Road and has been expanded over the years, with the latest additions being the Sport Science Centre and Vocational Training spaces. We take pride in our excellent facilities, which include tennis and netball courts, an air-conditioned gymnasium, and computer laboratories. Our specialist learning areas for Art, Hospitality, Technology, Science, and Music are designed to cater to the diverse range of interests and passions of our students. We also have a secondary campus, Katherine Flexible Learning and Engagement Centre (KFLEC), situated on Kintore Street. This campus provides personalised learning experiences for students who are disengaged in mainstream schooling. Our school caters to students from different backgrounds, including RAAF, pastoral, public, as well as remote, and urban First Nations students who speak more than 30 different languages. The school currently has more than 500 enrolments including a First Nation population of more than 60 per cent. We offer a range of exciting opportunities to meet the needs of individual students, including vocational education and training programs, work experience, distance education, music, sports, and programs like Clontarf Foundation and Stars Foundation. Our HEAL Program is designed to prepare senior students for life beyond the classroom. We also offer specialist academic programs such as extension classes, Pathways, and special intensive classes to help our students reach their full potential.
