Katie Alger

I am a London based designer with a wealth of experience working at some of London’s most respected graphic design studios. I embrace intelligent, thought provoking ideas and have a passion for both effective and beautifully crafted work. I graduated from Kingston University with a First Class (BA Hons) in 2008, and have since been a valued team member at Kimpton Creative, Conran Studio, EverythingInBetween, and & SMITH. At Kimpton I was part of a two-person team – consisting of the founder and Creative Director, David Kimpton, and myself. As a result I had great opportunities to be fully involved with the length and breadth of all projects, and also with the development and growth of the company itself. Conran Studio was a perfect complement to my experience at Kimpton, allowing me to work as part of a bigger team on a greater diversity of projects, and to collaborate across a mix of creative disciplines with creatives from all over the world. As senior designer at EverythingInBetween I lead multiple live projects, managed key client relationships, and oversaw project production. From 2017-2018 I took a sabbatical, travelling across the Americas from Canada to Argentina. In my time on the road I learnt a new language, and discovered histories, customs, and cultures that had never been taught to me. On my return to London in 2018 I joined & SMITH as a senior creative and design lead, deputising from the Design Director, leading creative, and overseeing a team of designers. I have created brands, identities, marketing campaigns, information graphics, environmental graphics, and editorial pieces, working across print and digital. My work has been recognised by a host of design awards. I am creative and critical, playful and professional, lateral and logical, and always ready for a challenge.
