I am not a standard graphic designer and do not want to be one (anymore). Designing a nice poster is nice, but in the end, my heart does not beat faster because of that. It does pound faster from things I don’t really understand, but do want to understand, art in every form, weird newspaper articles…” In 2009 I graduated as a research/editorial designer. This means that I am specialized to provide the content for my own work, and take care of the editorial part of the project. This means research, content, and concept are the most important checkpoints of my practice. I like to collaborate with other people:one time this means that I work together with people on a project from concept till presentation. Sometimes I integrate the collaboration later in a project, so people can add value to my project (e.g. the interviews for ‘be my guest’), but where the project stays mine.
