His travels took him across the world. When he was on the streets of New York, he saw restaurants serving American pancakes, as an alternative to Fraench’s conventional crepes. He began thinking about how to join the two: Croatian’s love of street food with the delights of a fresh American pancake. He took this chic yet simple concept, combined with over twenty years of hotel and restaurant experience and created Kava Tava. Kava Tava is now Croatia’s largest chain specializing in the innovation of world class pancakes - Chinkice and is a leader in the trend towards fun eating. The first KAVA TAVA opened in Zagreb at British square, in 2007. Triumph was almost immediate; the concept was franchised the following year, when the location in the Tkalciceva street opened in downtown Zagreb. We have progressive franchise development plans.
