JOCO First (formerly KBJ Economic Development) is focused on economic development activities in Johnson County, Wyoming. Johnson County is located in Northeast Wyoming and includes the energy rich Powder River Basin and the scenic Big Horn Mountains. The county has both I-25 and I-90 running through it, as well as US Highway 16 that connects the region with Yellowstone National Park. The primary industries in the region are energy/mining industries, agriculture, and tourism. JOCO First is working hard to diversify the local economy and thereby growing the economic base of the county. JOCO First is focused on business attraction, business retention and expansion, entrepreneurial growth, and workforce training and attraction. The organization also manages the Bomber Mountain Civic Center, a former school facility that is being renovated to house the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Horns, Sheridan College of Johnson County, and several other for profit and non-profit start-ups.
