Keikakuin's Cost Management service aims to assist various construction projects and leads the client's project to success. The Japanese architectural industry, of its quality and its artistry, is highly competitive and reputable internationally. However, because the acknowledgment level of the role of QS (Quantity Surveyor) in Japan is low, there are many cases where clients have limited options, paying extra expenses. Under such a circumstance, we could manage to develop our cost control business as premises for the following items: In order to conduct detailed cost management for the client, construction company, and also project manager’s side, we make the role of QS clearer from the first stage of the building plan to its completion and cut out the useless cost. One of our best selling points is that we can provide the services to both the client side (cost management) and the builder side (QS). Since we have profound experience and knowledge of both sides, we are able to provide information that are needed for each project. In the Western system of construction management, it is the maximum advantage that the PM and QS are kept separated and each has independent authorities. However, this system keeps the PM side and the QS side away from each other. Demerit of this system is that each side proceed the business only within their field, while not being able to grasp the whole project and its progress, often creating a situation where problems emerge at the final stage. Therefore, we assure that the profit improves by handling the cost management while considering quality and budget through our VE(Value Engineering) and CD(Cost Down) methods.
