I was raised in Northern California’s farm-to-fork corridor, surrounded by small, family-owned businesses and a community of self-starters. Entrepreneurship was part of everyday life—whether it was harvesting almonds, refurbishing furniture, machining parts, designing advertising signage, repairing cars, or offering cosmetology services. In a small town, if you wanted a business to exist, you had to build it yourself. That environment instilled in me a strong work ethic, resourcefulness, and a deep appreciation for the value of local enterprise.
