Keppel and Kismet, LLC is the brain child of Founder and Chief Maker, Nichole Sullivan. Nichole can remember being a maker from her teenage years. Back then it looked like baking cakes and pies, following in her paternal grandmother's footsteps. The joy of making coupled with a persistent entrepreneurial spirit motivated her to find the thing she most enjoyed doing and turn into a business. Nichole most enjoys making things that spark joy and inspire creativity. Keppel and Kismet began as a creative workshop and small maker shop on Etsy. We hosted workshops in our brick and mortar shop and sold limited retail. When the pandemic it, Nichole was at home like most of the world. While at home with her tools, equipment and material she started making products to sell. As outdoor markets and events restarted, Nichole found herself challenged with managing her business and family life while also trying to create enough inventory to sell at the markets she was accepted into as a vendor. As a former IT project manager and natural problem solver, Nichole discovered her problem was common among makers. So.she set out to solve it. Keppel & Kismet is on a mission to help others thrive in various ways- For businesses, we inspire human connection with their clients and employees through thoughtful gifting - In manufacturing, we partner with creative entrepreneurs with product-based businesses, so they can grow and scale their businesses, by gaining greater access to marketplace- In our city, we partner with local workforce development organizations, high school intern programs and college inter programs to help others learn the facets of our business that appeal to them and that can support our work- Maker workshops are fun, therapeutic and can build community when done together. We partner with local artists and makers to come in and teach what they do. It gives them more exposure and helps others find a hobby or a new side hustle.
