KERAPA is the app for you As a FIFO worker I’ve experienced many ups and downs. The industry we work in requires us to work away from our families & loved ones for many weeks at a time. The ups I speak of is being employed and knowing that I have a regular income. The down side is knowing that the project is coming to an end and wondering what to do, who to ask & where to look for work. I’ve experienced many downs in this industry as each project has an end date and I agree, it's what I signed up for. During these down periods the mental stress I placed upon myself definitely has a ripple effect and I’m sad to say, it not only took its toll on myself but my loved ones also I’m on a mission to prevent workers from losing what I lost and staying mentally positive when times seem uncertain. After speaking with many workers on various projects the response I get when sharing my pain…is the same. Its a common issue! Employment uncertainty effects all workers immensely, leading to unsafe acts at work, loss of concentration, time off, drinking and personal and family issues to name a few. The mind is a powerful tool.
