The Khalsa Diwan Society was founded on July 22, 1906 and was registered on March 13, 1909. The Ross street gurdwara was built in 1970 and established as the largest Sikh temple in North America at that time. As the number of Sikh's grow in British Columbia, the Ross street gurdwara is seen as a pinnacle of success in pioneering and establishing itself as a holy shrine for sangat across the lower mainland.
