Khawabi Soap

Khawabi Soap was founded in 1930 by Ibrahim Abboud. What was originally an olive oil manufacturing company was transformed into an olive making atelier. As a talented chemical engineer, Zahia Abboud, Ibrahim’s granddaughter, developed a range of bar soap using the most traditional and technical processes to manufacture high end natural, handmade soaps with a twist. The inspiration behind our brand name and identity were the Khawabi themselves. Khawabi, plural of khabia, are the traditional clay containers that used to store and conserve freshly pressed olive oil for long periods of time. They date back to the 18th century and were one of the very first methods to store olive oil and keep it fresh and edible.
