As a lobby initiative, KIDS Regio serves as an agent between policy makers, industry professionals, and the scientific community to create a network that discusses new synergies and works to improve the status, transfer, and variety of European productions and co-productions for a young audience. KIDS Regio stands up for original live-action feature films that offer children a diverse range of stories, genres, and styles, while also promoting children's film as an essential part of cultural diversity. In addition, KIDS Regio is dedicated to promoting film literacy and introducing cinema and film as an art form into school curricula and society in general. Since its establishment in 2009, KIDS Regio has hosted a variety of events and meeting points across Europe, serving as a mediator between academics, politicians, and the children's media industry. The Erfurt Declaration of 2009, detailing the future of European children's film, set the direction for KIDS Regio's work, and subsequent forums have continued to address important issues surrounding distribution, access, and marketing of European children's film. Join us at one of the upcoming KIDS Regio events, where industry professionals, policymakers, and academics will come together to learn from each other and develop new strategies to strengthen this important cultural asset.
