Kikwetu Foundation

Kikwetu Foundation is a youth and women-focused NGO based in Nairobi with the goal of empowering the youth and women with employable and business skills. Kikwetu Foundation was established in 2012 from the most unlikely places, a cyber café based in Dandora Slums, Nairobi Kenya. The main goal was to transform communities in response to a growing feeling of desolation among the Kenyan youth. This goal was to be achieved by advocating for the African culture while creating wealth for the youth and other vulnerable members of society. The first task that the Foundation undertook was to train youth on computer literacy. The founder understood that technology presents unique opportunities for individuals. These classes provided the so much need network and access to online jobs and opportunities. Ever since its inception, Kikwetu Foundation has impacted the lives of thousands of Kenyan youths and women for a decade through our numerous program activities including One Child One Desk, Caravan of Love, Tambua Program, and I Lead Africa.
