Kilimo Markets Ltd provides end-to-end services to small farmers in a diversity of value chains by improving productivity of crops and market access, and manages a Social Impact Investment (SII) Company. Introduction Kilimo Markets Ltd is a unique for profit registered as a seed company in Tanzania in 2010 that provides a broad range of business services to small farmers in communities. Kilimo Markets (KM) is a Social Impact Investment (SII) company that invests in communities of farmers to establish self-sustaining business communities of farmers linked to profitable value chains as a replicable and scalable business model for all of Tanzania and Africa. Small farmers become shareholders in the company and participate in its management and ownership. Its core income stream is through bulk grain brokerage facilitated for small farmers organised into Farmer Marketing Associations (FMAs) with support businesses based on community entrepreneurs engaged in seed businesses and input supplies. KM does Research and Development through organising and training small farmers into Voluntary Savings and Lending Groups (VSLGs) and these aggregate into the Farmer Marketing Association (FMA) in each village.
