As a consultant, the work that I do with clients is quite varied and based purely on their needs at the time. I offer something quite unique in the sense that I really try to understand an organisation and its culture and ensure that all the work I do 'fits' with their way of thinking. I have been working as an HR consultant for the last Eight years, have a Post Graduate Diploma in HR strategy and am fully CIPD qualified. Before becoming a consultant, I was in permanent HR positions for 5 years. I specialise in working with smaller organisations and now work with a select number of clients on a regular basis. Something that all my clients have in common is that they are all great places to work and this is largely down to the commitment they have to their people. When working with any new client I have to understand the culture of the organisation as well as gaining a full insight into their people and their business. It is only with this depth of understanding that I can deliver real value to a business. Experience has taught me that working to improve what a client already has in place is the best approach. It is not my policy to try and change things for the sake of change!
