Our chilli flavours are authentic South African infused with Portuguese inspiration. A panel of 20 respected food and drink experts, judging the Quality Food Awards rated our product amongst the 5 best retail industry products in the UK as far as innovation, quality, flavour, presentation and value for money goes. We are shortlisted with Ocado, Aldi, Morrisons and Hillfarm in the Oils & Vinegar section. We are a family owned business, situated in Cambridgeshire, on the banks of the river Nene. Previously from South Africa, we travelled extensively, trying new flavours and incorporating it into our products. Tim describes his childhood as “being the guy to go to after school for great sandwiches.” He says: “I used to make a concoction of chilli to go with whatever was in the fridge at the time. I developed the ability to make my chilli paste go with just about anything, enhancing the flavour to turn it into a great dish.” We are proudly artisan and we felt so confident that our flavours are as great as the retail industry giants, that we enrolled our peri-peri oil, not in the new producer section, but going head to head with the industry giants. When the Portuguese explored the African coast in the beginning of the 1400s, they started a huge love affair with the small hot pepper, peri-peri. We use this devil chilli very carefully to extract flavour without increasing the heat of our products to such an extent that it will not be tolerated by the average chilli lover. Our products boost bold South African flavours fused with Portuguese inspiration. The chilli paste forms the basis of all the products. Our peri-peri oil, chilli jam and chilli mayonnaise captures the essence of this flavour and when combined with our semi-sweet jam or tangy mayonnaise it is truly a delightful condiment to add to any meal.
