Kiran Society

KIRAN is a non-profit organization working for the holistic development of children and persons with disabilities. KIRAN is striving for a society where the children and persons with disabilities are welcomed, supported and encouraged. KIRAN started the intervention in 1990 and became a registered entity in 1994. Now KIRAN is infusing its cosmic but adequate experience for the comprehensive development of children and persons with disabilities. Our vision A world which ensures the inclusion of the differently-abled and marginalized children and youth into mainstream society, where they can feel welcome, supported and empowered. Our mission To enable differently-abled and marginalized children and youth to receive rehabilitation, education and vocational training, so that they can take care of their social, physical and spiritual needs and thereby become fully integrated into society. Interventions KIRAN works with a comprehensive development approach. The initiatives of KIRAN are Healthcare: KIRAN provide institution-based and community based medical and physical rehabilitation. The intervention includes therapeutic and medical rehabilitation through physiotherapy, speech therapy, psychological intervention occupational-therapy, hydrotherapy, hippotherapy, music therapy and prosthetic and orthotic intervention. Beside core rehabilitation services KIRAN also provides training to parents of children with disabilities. Education: KIRAN provides Inclusive education to children with disabilities and marginalized sections of societies. Special education program for children with severe and moderate disabilities is also run by KIRAN. A diploma in special education recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India is also provided by KIRAN to youths who want to become special educators.
