While Kirk Kapital A/S was established in 2007, there is an intriguing history, which dates much longer back. The wealth managed by Kirk Kapital A/S today has its origins back to 1932. This was the year that Ole Kirk Kristiansen started making wooden toys in his workshop in Billund, Denmark, and from 1934, he sold them as LEGO toys. The shareholders of Kirk Kapital A/S are direct descendants of Ole Kirk Kristiansen, the founder of LEGO, namely Casper Kirk Johansen (4th generation), Anders Kirk Johansen (4th generation), Max Kirk Johansen (5th generation) and Marie Kirk Johansen (5th generation). Since 2007, a part of the Kirk Johansen family’s wealth and investment activities have been combined in Kirk Kapital A/S. Kirk Kapital A/S is primarily an investment company, who seeks to create a long-term wealth creation for the benefit of the current shareholders and generations to follow. In addition, Kirk Kapital A/S provides investment advice and other family office services to its shareholders. Kirk Kapital A/S is the Kirk Johansen families’ holding and investment company. Kirk Kapital A/S focusses on the business areas 'Strategic Investments','Financial Investments' and 'Vejle Investments' with support functions to support the business areas, the owner families and an associated foundation called 'Edith og Godtfred Kirk Christiansens Fond' founded by and named after the son of Ole Kirk Kristiansen, Godtfred Kirk Christiansen and his wife Edith.
