Kmm-Vin - Multi-Functional Materials Network

KMM-VIN AISBL is a non-profit international association fostering integrated basic and applied research, educational and innovation activities in the field of advanced structural and multifunctional materials. The main activities and services are dedicated to transport, energy and health sectors with a new cross-sectorial working group on graphene/2D materials. The activities are conducted within five Working Groups: WG1. Materials for Transport WG2. Materials for Energy WG3. Biomaterials WG4 Modelling WG5 Graphene/2D materials KMM-VIN AISBL consists of more than 70 members including world leading academic and industrial organisations from 16 EU Member States with expertise in materials processing, characterisation, testing and modelling. KMM-VIN has emerged from the FP6 Network of Excellence project KMM-NoE (‘Knowledge-based Multicomponent Materials for Durable and Safe Performance’, contract no. 502243-2) devoted to the study, understanding, design and development of new advanced materials (ceramic, metallic, metal-ceramic, intermetallic, polymer, etc.). Besides joint research activities of KMM-VIN members, the association runs mobility programme for young researchers, organizes specialized courses and workshops targeted at industry from Transport, Energy and Medical sectors, creates and manages database on materials, members’ expertise and research infrastructure. Dissemination activities of KMM-VIN include the creation and administration of the association website with public and members’ areas, IT tools for projects coordinated by KMM-VIN, preparation and publishing of semi-annual KMM-VIN Newsletters, etc.
