Knitt Labs

Knitt Labs is a Toronto based tech start-up trying to solve today's energy waste problem by bringing big data to an industry that hasn't changed much in over a century. The way we currently use and manage our electricity consumption is archaic and lacks true transparency and control. This lack of transparency and control exists in homes, businesses and industry. It starts with a bill being sent with the past overall consumption data for a certain period of time and that bill is paid. There is no insight into how each individual appliance, electronic or machine is consuming electricity nor is there any insight or control into managing them in a better way to save energy and money. Knitt Labs is working on creating solutions to not only solve these problems but completely redefine the way we use and manage power all together. With working prototypes, and start-up funding from the UTEST (University of Toronto Early Stage Technology) program in partnership with MaRS Innovation.
