KnowledgeBeat, a registered Zambian NGO, strives to develop a new generation of Zambian leaders who are empowered to effect long term change. Through partnerships with NGOs, government agencies and Zambian Communities, KnowledgeBeat takes a hands-on, localized approach to education in areas of Zambia where resources are constrained or non-existent. Our approach relies on Zambian community participation which ultimately prepares and empowers community members to become effective leaders. Our mission is to educate children in rural Zambia through community driven programs that serve local needs such as girl’s advancement, health, and the environment. We focus on sustainable knowledge creation, training, and advancement. KnowledgeBeat’s model depends on working with local administrators and teachers to augment Zambia’s existing educational infrastructure. We do this through three core programs: KnowledgeCenters, KnowledgeCamps, and Scholarships. Our programs exemplify our commitment to catalyzing sustainable change – we select and train local facilitators who together with our team implement and establish topic based immersion camps, after school clubs, learning centers, field trips and other creative, feed-back driven ideas for transforming lives in rural Zambia.
