Kaohsiung Opto-Electronics, Inc (KOE, Taiwan), a 100% Japan Displays Inc group company (JDI; merging the display businesses of Hitachi, Sony and Toshiba to form the world’s largest manufacturer of small to medium sized LCD modules) was formed to advance the design, development and manufacture of market leading TFT LCD display modules previously established by Hitachi. KOE are proud to inherit an LCD heritage established over 35 years. As an early pioneer, Hitachi made simple character and dot matrix LCDs. Recently In-Plane-Switching (IPS) wide viewing angle technology has provided world beating Display Excellence. Continued investment in R&D ensure KOE stays at the forefront of evolving LCD technology. KOE's own production facility in Taiwan has in-house design, production and procurement of key components like LCD glass, colour filter, LCD drivers and backlights, allow KOE to continually enhance the range of optimised displays. KOE Europe replaces Hitachi Display Products Group (DPG) and supports European customers through an established distribution sales channel and regional sales teams.
