With a formal post-secondary education in theatre and lighting design, as well as experience gained through engineering, architectural, and lighting design firms, Founder and Principal Lighting Designer Christopher Rayment (Affiliate IALD, MIES) works with light as a medium to sculpt forms and reveal volume. Keeping one eye on function and the other on form, the firm’s approach starts from the intended effects and works backwards to positioning, fixture selection, and technical requirements. Drawing on an intimate understanding of the poetry of lighting and its ability to impact the human experience, KONIK’s designs consider every detail from the perspective of the end user weighed against the priorities of stakeholders and collaborating professionals.
