KONPRO was established in 1970 to provide consultancy and project management services in engineering and process design for agro-based industries such as oil palm, rubber and other tree crops. Over the years it diversified its interests and specialties into palm oil plantations, engineering, project management and consultancy services, logistics and industrial development, and renewable energy. Partners and clients include governments, government entities, multinationals, private companies as well as international agencies such as the United Nations, World Bank and Asian Development Bank. Through this extensive network, it has completed projects across 30 countries with collaborations in Europe, Africa and Australasia. Today, the 40 year old diversified KONPRO group operates through its 4 main core subsidiaries and associates. The Consultancy & Engineering division provides a full range of multi-disciplinary engineering, project management & consultancy services. The Industrial division is involved in spearheading logistics and industrial development for integrated modern green facilities, mainly for multinationals and governments. The palm oil plantations in Malaysia and Indonesia also fall within the purview of the division. The Plantations division manages existing palm oil plantations belonging to the KONPRO Group. It is also mandated to explore potential targets for acquisition and expansionary purposes. The Renewables & Energy division is involved in renewable energy power generation and distribution through a build, own and operate model. With a focus on ASEAN, it also involved in waste-to-energy plants, wastewater treatment facilities and energy efficiency systems.
