The first photonics technology began with passive technology that utilizes natural light, and then developed into technology that creates and utilizes artificial light such as incandescent and fluorescent lamps. Since then, it has developed intelligent technology through semiconductor light sources such as LED, laser, and optical fiber. In recent years, the photonics convergence industry ecosystem is evolving to secure soundness by adding value to existing industries or create new markets through combining photonics technology with other industries' innovative technologies.
