Gerard and Krisen Pillay, who between them have a combined experience of 49 years in the lighting arena, have launched a new company, Krilux Lighting. Kri is derived from the Sanskrit meaning ‘to do’ and lux of course refers to the measurement of illumination. Aiming to set itself apart from other lighting companies, Krilux will offer a range of lamps in addition to LEDs as they believe there is a market for other applications. Having spent the past 22 years visiting lighting factories, the Krilux team understands quality and has ensured that its entire range adheres to the strictest quality measures. All lamps undergo aging and lumen depreciation tests in order to meet local and international quality standards before they are included in the Krilux range. Products offered include, fluorescent tubes, halogen and high intensity discharge lamps as well as LEDs. Other ranges to follow. The LEDs are batch-coded and come with a two-year warranty. The company places emphasis on its packaging which includes detailed information about each product so that users are fully aware of what they are buying and what to expect from each product. Gerard Pillay, a founder member of Lohuis South Africa, has extensive experience in the field and he and Krisen look forward to offering a one stop shop for a complete range of lighting solutions that can be trusted.
