Our Story 2 People, 1 Bike, and a Scooty: Delivering 40 km a Day to Empower Farmers Krushaco Services started as a grassroots initiative with just two co-founders, one bike, a Scooty, and a mission: to deliver better agricultural inputs to farmers in remote areas. Every day, we covered over 40 kilometers, carrying bags filled with quality seeds and pesticides to villages where access to these essentials was limited. We didn’t just provide seeds; we aimed to empower farmers with the right tools and knowledge to improve their productivity. Partnering with 21 agro-input companies, we ensured farmers received top-quality products. In just over two years, we achieved several milestones: Supported 250+ recurring farmers, helping them increase productivity by up to 70% through better inputs. Expanded across three districts, building a network of 16 micro-entrepreneurs for better rural distribution. Grew our monthly Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) from to ₹4 lakh. Conducted 50+ workshops, reducing farmers’ costs by 15% on average. Our journey wasn’t without challenges. With thin margins, bootstrapped finances, and tight guidelines from agro-companies, we often relied on personal credit to fund operations. However, the impact on farmers’ lives kept us motivated. Krushaco was recognized nationally, including being named among the Top 5 Business Models in India by NEN, Top 10 Ideas of Eastern India by ICC Kolkata, and Top 30 Startups in Odisha by MSME Odisha. While we faced challenges in achieving Product-Market Fit due to the complexities of rural distribution, the journey taught us critical lessons in market dynamics, logistics, and scalability. These insights continue to shape our approach in building sustainable solutions in agri-tech. Our story is one of perseverance, hustle, and a deep belief in making a meaningful difference.
