Kumaran Design specializes in the creation of fine homes and inspiring public spaces - both new and to re-new. Beginning with design/build in the mid -1970’s and now into this new century, my focus is to design homes that “live well”. They should inspire. They should comfort. They should perform.* They should be long lived. They should be refined with quality inherent. They should delight! To achieve a home that will ‘live well’ for you, I start by listening. This dialogue with you forms the basis to integrate budget and functionality with a thoughtful design aesthetic.*Performance - from the first passive solar homes I created in the early ‘80’s to homes I design now which apply so many elements of current ‘green’ building design strategies, it is in my nature to ‘push’ each design to optimize sustainable, energy efficient features – those desired, those required and those affordable.
