KVARKO is a fund investing in innovative scientific and technology companies, being based on unique and innovative technologies that can ensure a clear market advantage. The business models of such companies are marked by easy scalability. What falls within the range of interest of KVARKO are projects at early stages of development which build their value on the basis of strong intellectual property, yet do not have any investment resources available for them as obtainable from classic seed or venture capital funds. The fund operates as a technology transfer centre, using a unique business model that combines a professional analytical background and a proprietary method for project assessment with the capabilities of a seed investment fund. It is the strategy of active acquisition of projects and the expertise of the managerial staff of the fund, as endorsed by their deep understanding of processes occurring within research units, that determine the competitive advantage of KVARKO. The team of KVARKO have got extensive experience in the field of own research, as well as the technology transfer and commerciallisation of intellectual property. The total capital under KVARKO management is PLN 30 m, out of which PLN 24 m is constituted by the resources provided by Narodowe Centrum Badań i Rozwoju (the National Centre for Research and Development) within the framework of BRIdge Alfa venture. The shareholders of KVARKO, in equal shares, are as follows: Startit Fund Sp. z o.o, Tech Invest Group S.A. and Venture FIZ, managed by Trigon TFI S.A.
