Kwiakah First Nation
Our core territory covers the Phillips Arm and Frederick Arm region—an hour’s boat ride from Campbell River. This area includes the Phillips Estuary/ᕈNacinuxᵂ Conservancy and the Pałəmin/Estero Basin Conservancy, which protect 4,439 hectares of rich marine, estuary, lake, and river ecosystems. We manage both conservancies in collaboration with BC Parks. We are excited to build a future… Where nən (grizzly bears) and their cubs roam through mossy, misty forests, not searching long to find a bounty of berries, roots, and fish to eat Where, 50 years from now, young adults and children won’t know what the heat of a 40 degree summer feels like Where all of us live in harmony with each other, our forests, and our oceans, leaving them healthier than we found them Where our people have the means to reclaim our land, our culture, our spirit and essence—free from discrimination and unfair barriers Join us in our pursuit to make our territory and the world a better place.
