Noise pollution has become an important, if underappreciated, threat to our mental and physical well-being. Today, 10-15% of adults experience tinnitus, upwards of 20% experience hyperacusis or other sensory sensitivities, and as many as 23% suffer at least mild-to-moderate hearing loss. These prevalence numbers increase further in certain population segments (e.g. ex-military, the elderly, people with autism). Yet, despite these high prevalence rates, dangerous noise levels continue to pervade our society, and to be largely unregulated by government and industry agencies. With this in mind, Kwyeter Technologies Inc.(Kwyeter) has developed with a mission to advocate for and facilitate quieter spaces for people with hearing impairments and sensory sensitivities.
