La Bon Bake Shoppes

La Bon Bake Shoppes first opened its doors in Edison, NJ, in 1952 as La Bonbonniere Bake Shoppes. The name is derived from the French word “bonbonniere,” which refers to a container for sweets (the bonbons). Despite its French name and Italian founder, the bakery has always served a wide range of American and European specialties. The bakery has expanded over the years and now has four locations, including Edison, Woodbridge, Somerset, and South Plainfield. In 2019 the name was shortened to La Bon Bake Shoppes to make it easier to say, spell and remember. Today, as always, La Bon Bake Shoppes strives to make delicious baked goods using authentic ingredients and techniques to give every customer an unforgettable experience.
